Seasonal
What's going on at Southend Foodbank at this time of year?
Throughout the year, Southend Foodbank marks the seasons with special campaigns, requests and events. Spring, Lent, Easter eggs, summer, Harvest, Advent calendars and Christmas - find out more about what we're doing at this time of year.
Lent
Would you like to take part in a challenge for the 40 days of Lent?
We currently have two resources for observing Lent this year - 40p for 40 days - All you have to do is grab an old jam jar or similar container and commit to the 40p saving each day.
We also have a 40-day calendar of items to collect and donate, which is perfect for groups.
By taking part this Lent, you can support local individuals and families facing hardship this Easter.

Easter eggs
Easter holidays can be hard for families already struggling, as the time away from school and free school meals (and heat and lighting and other facilities at school) can create extra pressure on the household budget. Easter eggs and chocolate treats can be beyond the reach of many families.
Adding an Easter egg can be a nice way to offer a little treat for children whose parents are turning to a foodbank.
You can donate at any of our collections points. Ideally, we'd love to receive your Easter eggs or chocolates by March 31st to give us time to divide them between our 8 centres fairly and get them ready to share in time for Easter but donations are gratefully welcomed whenever you can give.
