Jack runs 5k every day!

Miles for Meals

Jack Leech, personal trainer and owner of JL Fitness, completed his Miles for Meals challenge by running 5k every day throughout October.

Jack knew he wanted to do a challenge that benefitted the community, and came to visit us at the warehouse for a chat to find out more. Once we'd talked about what we do at the foodbank, why we do it, and how many people receive assistance from us, it cemented Jack's decision that Southend Foodbank was the right cause to run for.

Jack ran 5km every single day - which despite him being a personal trainer, wasn't as easy as many of us would have expected! He ran on cold nights after long days, ran in the rain, and ran with aching feet and calves.

You can hear from Jack in his interview with BBC Essex, just after his finished his final 5k on 31st October.

In total Jack raised £810 on his GoFundMe page.
