Job Title: Southend Warehouse Manager
Location : Warehouse, Southchurch Road, Southend
Hours: 24 -30 hours per week
Pay: Up to £24,420.00
Overview
Southend Foodbank is seeking a Warehouse Manager to oversee daily operations within our community based distribution centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing warehouse activities, ensuring efficient processes, and maintaining high standards of safety and organisation. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a vital community service by coordinating the receipt, storage, and dispatch of food supplies. The Warehouse Manager will play a key role in optimising our community warehouse performance through continuous improvement initiatives and effective team supervision.
Duties
- Oversee all warehouse operations including supplying local distribution hubs, ordering, receiving and managing stock levels using the Warehouse Management Systems
- Supervise warehouse volunteers, providing leadership, training, performance management and support to ensure high levels of productivity and safety compliance.
- Manage the transportation of food to local distribution centres, liaising with the volunteer co-ordinator to utilise volunteer input and expertise across the service
- Implement process improvements to optimise workflow, reduce waste, and enhance overall efficiency within the supply chain.
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting related to income and expenditure, stock levels, and operational KPIs.
- Maintain health and safety standards in accordance with legislation and organisational policies.
- Coordinate ordering & receiving stock, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while managing relationships with all suppliers and donors
- Utilise continuous improvement methodologies to streamline warehouse processes and improve service delivery.
Requirements
- Proven supervisory and management experience in a paid or voluntary capacity.
- Good understanding of supply chain management and logistics
- Familiarity with ordering & receiving procedures and inventory and stock control practices.
- Ability to manage income and expenditure statements effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills with a focus on process improvement and continuous development initiatives.
- Previous experience working with management systems or similar software platforms is highly desirable.
