Ticket, scarf, tin for the foodbank!
It goes a long way but a short distance
When you go to Southend United home pubs, the Blue Boar, Spread Eagle and Railway, you can drop off a donation for the foodbank – just hand a tin of food or some toiletries to staff at the bar.
There is also a donation point in the SUFC box office/ shop, where you can drop off donations anytime you’re in there buying a ticket or merch from the Macron store.
Football fans know the importance of standing up and showing your support
Match day collections at Roots Hall are a highlight in the foodbank Shrimpers’ calendar – when we get together outside the football ground, with lots of collection buckets and friends and ask people to donate on their way into the game.
Away fans are typically really supportive too, in the spirit of #HungerDoesntWearClubColours.
Fans from clubs across the country, at all tiers of the football pyramid, support their local foodbank with collections and campaigns as part of a grassroots movement Fans Supporting Foodbanks. The local Southend branch, Fans Supporting Southend Foodbanks, started in 2019.
Pub quiz
It’s not just match days – get involved with pub quiz fundraisers in 2025.
In January 2025, the Spread Eagle will be hosting our first pub quiz to raise funds for the foodbank.
