Southend Foodbank opened its doors on the 1st Nov 2013.
In our first 3 years we were presented with 3,566 vouchers which represents 8413 people (adults and children) – all of whom received 3 days worth of emergency food.
Each voucher presented to us means a conversation, an opportunity to be listened to or to sign-post; it’s an opportunity to pray with someone and for them to maybe find a bigger community to be part of.
During our first 3 years, we’ve had over 88,000 kilograms of food donated from over 150 different donors, including 26 churches and 21 schools, of which 69% comes in from regular weekly donations, 19% from supermarket collections, 12% from harvest collections.
Between November 2013 and October 2016 – we gave out over 81,000 kilograms of food.
