The Southend Foodbank session at Westcliff that runs on Wednesday afternoon is trying out longer opening hours in April.
After March was the busiest month ever across the foodbank, the volunteer team at St Saviours on Kings Road have decided to open an hour earlier to see if a longer session helps to accommodate more people using the foodbank.
The Wednesday Westcliff session at St Saviours church is one of the busiest, with a Citizens Advice advisor attending as well as usually having some household or fresh food items available alongside the regular packed food boxes.
